Why I Wrote this Book

Have you ever dreamed of running your own bed & breakfast? Maybe you’re a frequent B&B guest or an amazing host or hostess? Whatever your reasons may be, if you're serious about innkeeping, you must first understand the business from the inside out.

Running a Bed & Breakfast For Dummies brings together a wealth of information from an industry point of view, written for aspiring B&B owners as well as seasoned innkeepers. The goal of this book is to advise interested and potential innkeepers about the numerous tools, insider information and resources to start and run a successful B&B. This book is also an up-to-date guide for existing innkeepers who want to take their businesses up to the next level by increasing visibility and staying on top of new and emerging trends in the B&B industry.

Since no two B&Bs are alike and no two innkeepers will share the same experiences, this guide was written with many different perspectives in mind. Running a Bed & Breakfast For Dummies is intended to be a comprehensive guide book and is not based on the opinion of an individual or one particular method. This book is a result of my own experience at BnBFinder.com, where for the past 10 years I have worked with thousands of innkeepers from around the world, who run inns varying in size, location, attractions and amenities. I combined this with the first hand knowledge of a small, diverse group of innkeepers who worked closely with me on nearly every aspect of the book. My book incorporates facts, real experiences and knowledge with easy-to-use steps to make your B&B unique and a place to “wake up someplace special.”
